Course Overview

This course will explore the use of Acrylic painting using a range of different approaches and techniques. Your tutor, Vaughan, will guide you through the basics of colour mixing, brushwork and paint applications.

We shall create approximately four separate paintings per term, that explore different subjects such as landscape, animals, still life and portraits using a range of different techniques - brushwork, palette knife, using mediums etc.

Vaughan will give a brief demonstration at the start of each session and encourage your development in a caring, informative and fun environment.

Additional Costs

What should I bring to the first lesson?

Set of acrylic paints - Winsor and Newton Cryla Flow, Daler Rowney System 3, and Senellier are good.

Selection of brushes suitable for acrylics - hog or bristle are good, also nylon.

Selection of supports for your painting - canvas, canvas board, primed mount card etc - approx A3 size or much larger, depending on personal choice.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.

- To allow us to provide equal opportunities for all eligible learners, please refrain from enrolling on more that three Learning For Work courses at this time. -
