Course Overview

This experimental drawing class is about giving yourself permission to play and create without limitations, judgement or criteria, to promote an individual, playful and explorative approach to creative expression.

The essence of the creative process itself is explored through the medium of drawing and painting using mixed media.

Ali will guide you through a series of simple, complex, familiar and unusual tasks and approaches to expressing yourself creatively each week- line quality, mark making, colour, textures, composition and balance are just some of the things we will explore - alongside an epic soundtrack to set the tone, mood and rhythm of each class.

Not only is it good for your mental health as it is incredibly relaxing and enjoyable, it is also great fun getting your hands dirty again- revisiting playful practises of our youth and finding that inner child-like spirit!

Ali has a masters and a doctorate in the visual arts, and has been sharing her passion for creative expression in both clay and drawing for nearly 20 years. She is also a practising artist and has exhibited her work in the UK and Europe.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
