Course Overview
Step-by-step demonstrations are provided throughout, suitable for all abilities.

The course explores drawing techniques for charcoal, pencils, colour pencils, conté, pen and inks.

Tuition will include discussions based on six core principles: the perception of edges, spaces, relationships, light and dark, expression, and the 'Whole'.

Instruction will be given on perspective, portrait and figures, expressive sketching, and representation drawing. Exploring themes from the animal world, nature, landscape, seascapes, people, still life and buildings.

The course will begin with exploring marking making with the humble and magnificent pencil. As the course progresses additional media will be introduced.

You will be sent regular information via the group's 'WhatsApp Group' which you will be able to join on the first day of term for the media and themes, with advice on where to purchase additional materials prior to each project.

Projects are spread over 1-2 weeks to give you plenty of time to complete drawings and sketches.
