During the Term 1 (10 weeks) September – December you will learn how to:

use various types of cake decorating equipment, and understand different decorating mediums

Decorate cupcakes /cake with buttercream

Make rolled roses, cutout flowers and leaves

Model Guy Fawkes from modelling paste

Decorate a novelty bonfire cake

How to model various fruits

Create a gateau

Model Father Christmas, Rudolph and other Christmas items

Cover and decorate a Christmas Cake

There will be equipment and ingredients to buy to complete this course but I will try and keep costs to a minimum. I will tell you each week what you will need for class the following week. I will also show you any equipment I will be using so that you will know what to look for.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

What should I bring to the first lesson?
Equipment need for Week 1
Tea towel, apron, small kitchen knife, rolling pin, board to roll out on, small amount of icing sugar, small plastic freezer bags.
Small block of sugarpaste. (this is available from most of the larger supermarkets it may be called fondant, or ready to roll icing depending on which brand you buy.)
