Course Overview

This is a 33 week course, which consists of three 11 week terms. • The course will cover practices in watercolour, oil, acrylic and drawing. • The sessions will include various themes in colour theory, still life, landscape, seascapes, portraits etc., with information about composition and application of mediums. Most sessions will be accompanied with visual references. • Classes will include step by step demonstrations. • Self-directed projects by learners are also encouraged with tutoring on hand for advice. Note: The beginning of the course will begin with waterclour. Other materials can be bought as and when necessary as the course progresses.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

What should I bring to the first lesson?
1-5: Essential for the beginning of the course.
6-11: Additional and optional as course progresses

1. Sketch pad 2x HB pencils sharpener and a putty rubber
2. Good quality watercolour set and palette ie: Reeves or Windsor & Newton ie: Cotman £7-£30
3. At least 3 brushes small, medium and large, round and flat for watercolour/acrylicand a set of oil paint brushes.
4. Good quality watercolour pad 300gsm.
5. 2 jars, natural sponge and some kitchen towel. masking fluid and masking tape.
6. Wooden drawing board.
7. A small set of acrylic and/or oil paints.
8. An oil/acrylic pad and/or canvases.
9. Pastels and pastel paper
10. Linsedd oil and odourless turps.
11. Waterproof set of black ink pens.
