Course Overview
This is a 33 week course, which consists of three 11 week terms.

• Explore fundamental drawing techniques in pencil and charcoal including use of tone and line, perspective light and shadow, structure and composition to build a strong drawing foundation.

• Give beginners and those students with various drawing experience the confidence to draw through the use of a number of techniques and media.

• The course aims to improve students' drawing skills and encourages all students to express themselves creatively. A real interest in and a willingness to learn about drawing are more important than initial skills.

• Students are advised re: materials as they progress.

• A minor cost is made for photocopies.

• Some students may wish to bring 'cover up' when working with messy materials.

• Some materials, e.g. charcoal, pastels, ink etc. will be required as students progress, the tutor will advise on their purchase.

• A ring binder sketchbook of medium weight cartridge paper (135gms or above), a mix of pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
